Sep 9th: Apple ‘Let’s Rock’ Special Event – [Updatedx2]

Posted on September 9th, 2008. Written by Arron.

It has arrived. Today at 10am EST (6pm GMT), Apple will be holding a special event at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. Lets recap what is currently expected to be announced:

iPod nano - [Check: With awesome colours!]
Previous sources have suggested Apple will return the iPod nano model to it’s former self in making it tall and thinner in form factor …

iPod touch – [Check: No GPS, Steel is nice ...]
We also heard recently of a slight re-design to the iPod touch product line, with this revision introducing tactile volume controls, a more curved design and stunningly, a A-GPS (Global Positioning System) module onto the iPod line, for the first time ever.

iTunes 8.0 – [Check]
Early doubts left this rumor hanging, but it’s now back stronger than ever with recent claims explaining iTunes 8.0 will hit later today, with new features including Grid View, Genius Playlist and a new (very trippy) visualizer.

iPhone Firmware 2.1 – [Check: Coming Friday 12th Sep 08]
Previous rumors stated the next revision of iPod touch will introduce firmware 2.1. If it does, iPhone can’t be far behind. 2.1 is expected to finally bring push notifications, as well as some secret hidden features.

One More Thing… – [Well it wasn't a 'Big Deal' ... after all]
Claims of Apple PR ringing an Eastern, News Weekly journalist, only to say:

“This event is a ‘Big Deal’ and we urge you to attend”

… Sealed that this event is going to be pretty huge.

Mac Rumors will be providing live coverage of the entire event by text updates, and they are even offering a ‘Spoiler Free‘ link, which you can bookmark now, for people who don’t want to know whats happened until the event is over.

Stay tuned, as we’ll be sure to bring you the latest here too, as it happens.

Arron

Hi, I'm Arron. I'm 20 and I am currently working as a freelance graphic designer and blogger. While managing RazorianFly, I currently also write for AppBoy.com, have previously written for 148Apps.com and have been approached by many others. I've been into graphic design for about 7 years now, and now offer iPhone and iPad Interface Design to developers professionally. Along with James, I also co-founded our brilliant new shortening service, RFly.Me. I'm very much tuned into both the App Store and Apple in general. I like the design, presentation and clarity of a product. If it doesn't cut it I'll tell you straight. I'm on Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook!
