The Next Macbook, Codename ‘Brick’ – [Updated]

In a recent rumor to emerge, it seems the next revision of Apple’s Macbook product line will reflect ‘Bricks’. Exactly what this means is still being questioned, heavily …
[Update 05.10.08 @ 00.22]
9to5mac finally put the ‘Macbook Brick’ rumor to rest, stating that the term brick actually refers to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing process Apple are adopting for it’s Macbook product line. It’s said to be huge, game-changing, and one of the biggest Apple innovations in a decade.
[Update 04.10.08 @ 00.28am GMT]
9to5mac have announced they officially have further information on what this rumor actually refers to, and while doing so posted this teaser image (below), along with the promise of more information at the ‘weekend’ …

They then stated shortly after they couldn’t wait until the weekend, and consequentially linked us to this – Which to be fair is slightly more confusing than the teaser. Entry Mac Pro model? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Original Article:
9to5mac responsible for first stating the new iPod nano line would reflect the word ‘Rainbow‘, previously misconstrued as meaning individual multi-coloured iPods, the iPod nano line is now available in a range of colours resembling the ‘Rainbow’.
In a tip off from what seems to be anonymous riddler, 9to5mac are now claiming they have some information regarding the next Macbook. Even though the information is new, even they are questioning it themselves.
“She says that the MacBook update event in a few weeks (you know the one with the glass trackpads) is ‘all about the Brick’. What does “The Brick” mean?”
With the recent unveiling of the Macbook Air, and what Apple is calling the ‘Thinnest Notebook Ever’, it’s hard to imagine them even code-naming a future product with anything slightly related to ‘Bricks’. Bricks are heavy, clunky objects which have no style or form, it’s just not ‘Apple’ – Or maybe it is, maybe it’s viral marketing? – We know Apple often use cryptic clues before a product launch to build hype, take ‘There’s something in the Air’ for example, the tag line before the Macbook Air was officially unveiled. Sometimes people read into things too much regarding Apple, and sometimes, people read into Apple too little.
Apple have a marketing strategy like no other company. They know how to create hype, and they know when or if it’s needed. It’s happening again. One tiny shred of information and the blogosphere has gone wild once again. What does ‘… all about the Brick’ mean? – Cryptic?, or not – We’ll find out soon, be sure of that.
