Zombie Mansion: Pre-release Gameplay [VIDEO] [Updated]

Posted on November 13th, 2008. Written by Arron.

Over the past couple of days I’ve been looking at and beta testing Zombie Mansion, the FPS for iPhone and iPod touch. Yet to hit the App Store – tonight I got chance to film a short video of it while in game play …

[Updatedx3] – As of now (17.37pm) video has been viewed 2,262 times.

[Updatex2] – Peoples Feedback and Impressions …

“The cane does look silly. It doesn’t match the sound effect as to “cane conjures energy blasts”. Like other people said it would be better if they used a real gun (unless that’s the real twist of the game).

I was considering that you just smash/whack the zombies with the game when I first saw it, but after looking at the video now I somehow knew what was the cane for. Seriously, change the cane, just my two cents. Game play does remind me of Quake. Could he add jump to the character too? Use the accelerometer to walk front back, sideways? And improve graphics more then this should be really cool to play with. I hope replay value too will be improved. ”

- Rayfire (Mac Rumors)

“Looks pretty good. Get rid of the Harry Potter stick thing and give us some guns or knives. Also the sound effects are pretty rough. I’d spend 3.99 on it.”

- Illinoisemakers (Mac Rumors)

Looks great. Now.. how much will it cost and when can I expect it?

- Spyker3292 (Mac Rumors)

The controls look very awkward.

Not only does it seem impossible to move diagonally, but also the strafe keys are placed higher, making your left thumb totally obscuring your view of what you might run into on the left.

- HkiPhone (Touch Arcade)

[Update] – This footage just made the frontpage of Touch Arcade!

Important: Zombie Mansion is still in it’s ‘beta’ development stages. As a result screen shots and video material of actual game play may be unfinished, and/or unpolished, until stated otherwise by it’s developers.

Here it is … ACTUAL game play footage of Zombie Mansion before it even hits the App Store. Filmed on a Fujifilm Finepix Z, Played on iPhone 3G – *breath* – This is from Beta 3:

‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson. â„— 1982 MMJ Productions Inc.

Apologies for the music – I just had to. :D
Further videoing-ness of Zombie Mansion will be added to this post.

Enjoy.
