Apper: App Store News, On the Move [Updated]

Posted on November 14th, 2008. Written by Arron.

A few months back, I got involved in a little project app review site ‘The Apper’ were setting up. They aimed to provide an easy to use, accessible solution to viewing the latest from 7 top app review sites, including them, and us! Consequentially, I am also responsible for designing the app’s icon …

These sites are now also confirmed as coming to Apper; SlideToPlay, touchApper, iUseThis, AppVee, Apple iPhone School, FreshApps, Gizmodo, Ars Technica, iPhone App Reviews, iPhoneAlley, Lockergnome, AppRater, What’sOniPhone. Not only that, James has said he’s submitting a new version of Apper tonight (dubbed v1.1), which will include article viewing in the actual app itself, as well as theme options!

“I’m going to be submitting v1.1 tonight which will include all of those new websites, a new description and more screenshots. After that I’ll submit v1.2 with article viewing from within the app, and different themes. Then I’ll start working on v2.0.”

Reviewed at: v1.0.0
Retails for: 0.59p/$0.99
Released on: 13th November 2008
App Store: Here

We’re very pleased to announce you will now be able to read RazorianFly.com on the move for just 59p ($0.99) with Apper. The app will feature 7 sites initially; RazorianFly, TouchArcade, FingerGaming, HawtApps, iGames, ZymBlog and App Craver, with a ‘add a site’ feature coming in version 2.0.

Although simple, the app does what it was designed for; the seamless integration and viewing of 7 of what we thinking are the best app reviewal sites on the web today. When you first launch the application you’ll be presented with a list of the 7 sites included. Simply click one, and you’ll be thrown into another screen listing the 10 latest articles from that site, and of course these update over Edge, 3G and Wifi automatically. Clicking on an article will launch the article in the mobile Safari browser.

Features of v2.0
The app is currently very sparse at version 1.0., and James (the dev) ensures us that more features are planned for the version 2.0, including:

  • The ability to create ‘Favourite’ folders
  • Reordering of Menus
  • Share articles with Friends
  • A completely new user interface
  • Extra sites addable through download
  • Search

We’re really excited just to be involved this, and we hope to gain even more interested readers through this application. Thank again for being readers, we really do appreciate it.

Also, we’d really appreciate it if you’d check it out, and if you’d like do so: Go Here.

RazorianFly.com does not currently profit from ‘Apper’ in any way.

Thanks,
Arron

Arron

Hi, I'm Arron. I'm 20 and I am currently working as a freelance graphic designer and blogger. While managing RazorianFly, I currently also write for AppBoy.com, have previously written for 148Apps.com and have been approached by many others. I've been into graphic design for about 7 years now, and now offer iPhone and iPad Interface Design to developers professionally. Along with James, I also co-founded our brilliant new shortening service, RFly.Me. I'm very much tuned into both the App Store and Apple in general. I like the design, presentation and clarity of a product. If it doesn't cut it I'll tell you straight. I'm on Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook!

  1. You should really think about building up this site into a serious authority in this field. You obviously have a fundamental handle of the topics all of us are looking for on this blog anyways and you could maybe even make a buck or three from some offers. I would explore following recent topics and increasing the amount of write ups you put up and I bet you’d start earning some good traffic in the near future. Just an idea, good luck in whatever you do!
