Countdown to Rolando: New HD Trailer Released

Posted on December 17th, 2008. Written by Arron.

It’s no longer big news that one of the most anticipated games since the introduction of the App Store, is nearing it’s release. Today, just to help the hype-machine along a bit more, ngmoco has released a new trailer of the game on it’s blog, showing in-game play as well as various in-game controls you’ll have to get to grips with. As if you couldn’t wait for the game’s release any longer, we thought we’d join in on the hype. Hit the jump to see the new Rolando trailer.

4 worlds. 36 engaging levels.

If you’ve been living in a bubble lately, or just haven’t heard of Rolando yet – Rolando is a fun, cute little title from ifunded corporation ngmoco. The game features ‘rolandos’ which undoubtedly take their inspiration, look and form from Sony’s Loco Roco franchise. In the game you’ll battle through Rolandland, a colourful, peaceful, place of harmony – that was until an evil shadow befell the lands. You will help to save a whole kingdom from destruction. The king and queen of Rolandoland are counting on you.

“Rolandoland is in peril and the Rolandos need your help! Use innovative tilt, tap and Multi-Touch controls to guide the Rolandos through four visually-distinct worlds and 36 engaging levels. Solve physics puzzles, toy with the interactive environments and evade pesky enemies as you lead the Rolandos to victory.”

HD VERSION: Available Here

The title is expected to be released on December 18th (tomorrow), with some users thinking it could actually hit shortly after midnight tonight (17th Dec). Either way, rest assured that we’re on the scene, and we’ll let you know the second it becomes available on the App Store.

Rolando is famed to be a revolution in iPhone and iPod touch gaming, and with it missing it’s original August release, they’ve sure had enough time to polish it up good. Will it disappoint? We can only sit back and wait at this point. In the coming weeks we’ll also be picking up the game ourselves, and giving it a video test drive, so stay tuned! :D

Hi, I'm Arron. I'm 20 and I am currently working as a freelance graphic designer and blogger. While managing RazorianFly, I currently also write for AppBoy.com, have previously written for 148Apps.com and have been approached by many others. I've been into graphic design for about 7 years now, and now offer iPhone and iPad Interface Design to developers professionally. Along with James, I also co-founded our brilliant new shortening service, RFly.Me. I'm very much tuned into both the App Store and Apple in general. I like the design, presentation and clarity of a product. If it doesn't cut it I'll tell you straight. I'm on Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook!
