This week has been pretty quiet in term for big game and app releases. I have seen more big name previews like Madden 10 and other games. Luckily we have found some games that have taken my fancy this week as well as a look at how DLC can add value to one of this weeks games.

Alive 4-Ever – $0.99

Alive 4 Ever is a great game that once again has proven how popular survival shooters are on the App Store. Very similar in graphics and gameplay to iDracula, Alive 4 Ever has brought an interesting RPG factor into the game with levels and the ability to change characters, weapons and equipment. Meridian are fairly unknown on the App Store, but with some decent titles already out there that have led onto this great game.

Alive 4-Ever has some amazing graphics, even though not as defined as iDracula. There are many different levels and characters as well as the one thing iDracula was lacking, Blood! There are over 30 missions to complete in a game that is joined together with a storyline involving some kind of zombie invasion. The game is easy to pick up and play but the addictive nature of this game will have you hooked for hours. For $0.99 this is an absolute gem and should already be on your iDevice.

Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster Rush – $4.99

Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster Rush is the 3rd game in the series by Digital Chocolate and the 2nd 3D version. The game is all about going hard and going fast through many loops and high speed jumps while keeping your passengers intact. This version is based on the original Rollercoast Rush 3D, but with a Jurassic theme and high and nastier tracks than ever before. This is more of an arcade game that can keep you entertained for hours on end.

Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster Rush features 40 thrill packed levels that take you past some previous inhabitants on this earth. Once again this is two games in one with the Race mode that lets you race through all 40 levels again to beat the clock. A strategic game that has some of the best graphics that I have experienced playing Digital Chocolate games. This is definitely for a very casual audience so you should probably check the lite version out before forking out the highish price of $4.99 for this title.

Ramp Champ – $1.99 + $1.98 of DLC

Ramp Champ is the weirdest game that I have seen be hyped up in a long long time. I never craved playing the ball toss game at the arcade, which is the exact principle of this. Just like the game 10 Balls 7 Cups, the aim of this is to get as high as score possible on the four – eight levels. This game is so addictive though, with tokens to collect to buy rewards and three trophies that will take hours to earn for each level. This game really blew me away, as I was expecting some game I wouldn’t pick up after 5 minutes.

This game is really hard to learn the correct speed and direction, but that is half the fun of it. It will take hours to perfect how to successfully hit where you want when you want when you are throwing the ball up the alley. Ramp Champ leaves you wanting more levels and more fun, and two $1 packs are available to buy giving you more ramps, more trophies and more prizes to collect. This is one of those games that will be loved by you for weeks on end. Seriously I didn’t think I would say it but this is a must have!

Other Notable Releases this week Include:

The Quest – Hero of Lukomorye I by Chillingo

Red Bull Soapbox Race by Red Bull

Zombie City by Retarded Arts

Stay tuned next week for the third installment of ‘The Week That Was’. If you have any suggestions to improve the segment please either email me at damon@razorianfly.com or submit a comment below. Thanks! :D
