Intro
We have a brand new sponsor, Chillingo! Look out for this segment to be continued for months to come. Thanks guys!
This week has been all about the Thanksgiving sales but quietly we have seen lots of great titles pop out this week. This big one that I think of this week is not a Electronic Arts or Gameloft game, but the controversial A.D.D that has been sitting in Apple HQ for months upon months. Finally us average folk have a chance to pick up this hilarious game, as well as these other ones.
Rogue Planet – $4.99
Agartha Studio had announced that they were making a game called Rogue Planet along time ago. Recently however Gameloft announced they would be publishing Rogue Planet which would be a win win situation for both parties. Rogue Planet reminds me of many games, with cut scenes similar to Mass Effect Galaxy by Electronic Arts but the game is much like Advance Wars for various Gameboy and Nintendo DS platforms. As a surge of strong RTS games hit the the App Store, does Rogue Planet stand strong?

This game has an incredible amount of gameplay, with 19 campaigns and 15 other maps for casual play. The campaign mode will easily take you over 6 hours to complete, with it slowly getting harder and more of a strategic game to complete. Any fans of turn based games or RTS games like Command & Conquer will absolutely love this game to bits. The awesome battle cut scenes and general graphics make for a great gaming experience. For $4.99 I find this a great price and you should definitely pick this up.
A.D.D – $2.99
A.D.D has finally (and shockingly) been released by Apple. This game has had much controversy, and at one time was suspected it would never make it onto the App Store. While the game has been combed and almost 30 games have been booted from it’s line-up, there is still enough here to make you laugh. With over 70 naughty (and sometimes down right disgusting) mini games this is a great game to play for 2 minutes or 2 hours. Many times during the game you find yourself thinking, “How did this minigame make it through?”

There are over 70 mini games available in the first version of the game, with more promised to come. You can play these in a variety of ways, with 3 different game modes. The games are quick, being similar to WarioWare, and often require you to figure out what to do after the game starts. This fast paced action coupled with hilarious games makes for a great experience. For $2.99 this is an awesome game with heaps of content and why not buy it? It may be removed from the App Store any day now knowing Apple.
Cross Fingers – $0.99
As Mobigame still struggle to keep Edge on the App Store, they release a game with a quite ironic title that has nothing to do with the game. This game reminds me more of Zentomino or Tanzen, except that the puzzle pieces are locked in a board and have to be put into the shaded area. This isn’t as easy as it sounds as the pieces are quite often blocking or in the way of another piece. This is one of the better strategy type games that I have played in a long while and it is also one of the better looking games.

There are over 120 levels over four difficulty levels and a fast paced arcade mode to beat the top score. The game is not only extremely difficult in the later levels, but Mobigame have also seemed to throw in some brain twisters in early on levels just to keep your brain ticking over. This is a great game that will appeal to the casual gamer, as well as the hardcore gamers who want to finish all 120 levels. For $0.99 you can’t really go wrong with this title, it is a great pick up but is hopefully here to stay on the App Store!
Other Notable Releases this week Include:
Battle for Wesnoth by Kyle Poole
Stair Dismount by Secret Exit
Flick Kick Aussie Rules/Rugby by PikPok
Hills and Rivers Remain by Square Enix
I Dig It Expeditions by InMotion Software
Skater Nation by Gameloft
Connect 4 by Electronic Arts
Robbie Williams Racing by Artificial Life
Stay tuned next week for the twelfthinstallment of ‘The Week That Was’. If you have any suggestions to improve the segment please either email me at damon@razorianfly.com or submit a comment below. Thanks!

Nice blog. I got a lot of good data. I’ve been keeping an eye on this technology for awhile. It’s intriguing how it keeps shifting, yet some of the core elements stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their most recent acquisition in the field?
