Poll: Will We See Apple iPad Pre-Orders Today?

Posted on February 25th, 2010. Written by Arron.

Rumors are floating around that today will be the day that Apple sends US iPad Wi-Fi pre-orders live. The question is .. Do you believe it?

You may remember last week that app review site App Advice cited an unnamed source close to Apple having stated the company was gearing to launch US pre-orders for the Wi-Fi iPad model, today, Thursday 25th February. The story was soon picked up by media and tech blogs the world over, including appearing briefly on Mashable.

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been trying to get my awesome followers on Twitter to give me their own opinion of the rumor. Here are just some of the responses I received.

Responses

“It’s still early (In the US at least), anything can still happen ;)@DouweM
“Or. will apple wait and do a march 4.0 event and start iPad pre-orders then?”@KFred35
“I just want UK pricing :(@RobertSammons
“If at all Tuesday or Wednesday…otherwise no. Also, IMO only U.S.”@PDParticle
“I want MBPs :P@JFmartin67
“I doubt it. They would’ve ramped up interest at the event.”MochaSync
“I hope so. Even though something in me wants to wait in line to get one too. lol.”@JMcCray
“Interesting. Still no UK price. :( ” – @Sidesey
“Most likely a Tuesday or maybe even Wednesday.”@SimpleReviews

What Do You Think?

So, we thought we’d run a straight ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ poll. We think if pre-orders do happen today they’ll most likely happen on Cupertino time. 10am to be precise. Usually for pre-order events like this we should see the Apple online store go down around 5.30-6PM BST tonight (9.30 – 10 am).

Let us know what you think will happen, below!

Along with James, I also co-founded our brilliant new shortening service, RFly.Me. I'm very much tuned into both the App Store and Apple in general.
