Posted by Arron on 29 Mar 2010 @ 1:38 AMUntil about a week ago, it seemed Apple had succeeded in keeping everything about its iPad launch under wraps .. and then the internet woke up.
From Apple’s Web-Based iTunes directory, iTunes Preview starting to show what initially looked like (and have now been confirmed to be), launch day iPad applications, to MacRumors actually accessing the iPad App Store a week early and taking various screenshots to even leaked e-book pricing of titles on the iBookstore. The web is now aflutter with previously unknown launch day information about the Apple iPad.
With the US launch still 6 days away though, Federico Viticci of MacStories reports that an anonymous tipster has since sent the site a video lasting 1:30 in duration, showing what appears to be the new, rather elongated, interface of the iPad App Store due for its debut along with the device itself in the US, next Saturday.
One interesting aspect of the video is that it seems to convey that at least the featured section of the new store, will be navigable in ‘CoverFlow‘.
As the exact source of this video remains unknown though, it is hard to take what we see in it as final – and as we’ve said all along, these screenshots and video footage which are leaking onto the net, are deemed pre-release material, and as such, the interface, application(s) and pricing depicted may be subject to change at any time, before the device debuts.
With all that said, the above video gives us a previously never-before-seen feel of what we might be able to expect from the new store, starting April 3rd.
Update Mar 29th (20.00 PM BST): MacStories has posted the second part of this iPad App Store video. This second part shows Charts, Categories and … more iPhone apps. Watch below!
