Edge Returns to the App Store .. Again. [$0.99 This Weekend Only!]

Pulled from the App Store numerous times, Mobigame have announced Edge is now available on the App Store … again.

The company has fought borderline fraud Mr. Tim Langdell, founder of “Edge Games”, in a legal dispute over who actually owned the copyright and trademarks over the word ‘Edge’, for about a year now. After the game reappeared on the store as ‘EDGY’ in December of last year, Langdell soon found a way to get Apple to pull the app once more, claiming he owned the trademark over that word, too.

Today though, @Mobigame sent us a short welcoming e-mail, letting us know their award winning game Edge, has been re-approved by Apple and is now available on both the UK and US App Stores, once again – stating Edge is free to remain on the App Store in both the US and UK as ‘Edge’, and suggesting that they had finally won the legal battle.

“During one year we had to fight a fraud to release our game in the U.S and in the U.K. Today the justice will take care of him. We fought not only for us, but also for other indies and bigger companies. We were not alone during this year, and we thank all of you for all your efforts. Thanks to US the word “edge” is now free to exist on the App Store like on any other marketplace, and games like Mirror’s Edge, Shadow Edge, Killer Edge Racing or Edge by Mobigame can live on our iDevices. Edge is currently priced at $4.99.

[Update] – Mobigame just announced to celebrate it will be dropping the price of Edge to $0.99/59p this weekend only.

Hi, I'm Arron. I'm 20 and I am currently working as a freelance graphic designer and blogger. While managing RazorianFly, I currently also write for AppBoy.com, have previously written for 148Apps.com and have been approached by many others. I've been into graphic design for about 7 years now, and now offer iPhone and iPad Interface Design to developers professionally. Along with James, I also co-founded our brilliant new shortening service, RFly.Me. I'm very much tuned into both the App Store and Apple in general. I like the design, presentation and clarity of a product. If it doesn't cut it I'll tell you straight. I'm on Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook!
