10 Gorgeously Designed iPad Applications – [Part 1]

Carrying on from our mini-series including 10 Gorgeously Designed iPhone Applications Part 1 and Part 2, we thought it only fair that the iPad get some of our attention too!

So, we went to work and came up with what we deem are 10 iPad applications which are truly App Store pioneers.

These selection of apps are apps which we think all other developers should look up to when choosing to design the user experience around their own apps.

The apps listed below have either already left their impression on the App Store, or are about to make an impression.

Note: This list is not ‘ranked’ in any way.

7. Dizzy Pad HD

Developed by Ian Marsh (@eeen) of NimbleBit, Dizzypad is a one-tap platformer. Described by many as “Koi Pond meets Doodle Jump”, this game requires a huge amount of timing and skill as you make that all important leap from floating lilly pad to floating lilly pad.

Choosing from a range of different coloured frogs, the game sees you trying to navigate across a large pond, using the oncoming lily pads to aid you as your stepping stones. Unsurprisingly the goal of Dizzypad is pretty simple. Keep leaping from each lily pad as fast as you can for as long as you can. But there’s a catch! … those lilly pads? They move. Actually, they spin. Yeah .. Fast. With your projected leap direction marked with a light blue arrow attached to each of these spinning lily pad, you’ll aim to judge when is just the right moment to make that death-defying flying departure!
