Our friends over at @AppAdvice are today reporting that first sales reports that have been released by an industry analyst, may reveal Apple have sold in excess of 1.5 Million iPhone 4 units to date.
The report comes from Oppenheimer analyst Yair Reiner who suggests that using a simple breakdown of sales, that Apple may have actually sold 1.5 Million iPhone 4 units to date.
The breakdown of data comes in the form of pre-order sales, in-store sales, sales from other places (such as @eBay) and overseas orders.
According to Reiner that data looks as follows:
600,000 pre-orders
100,000 in-store sales
50,000 sales from other places (e.g. Best Buy)
750,000 (roughly), from overseas
Other data alongside the report suggested that 76% of the buyers were only upgrading their iPhones to iPhone 4, with a measly 21% switching to AT&T, and of those, 41% were with T-Mobile, with 28% originally from Verizon.
Whether or not this sales data is trustworthy on not is yet to be seen, but if it is … it looks like iPhone 4 has yet again become a roaring success for Apple. We’re expecting official sales data to be announced in the form of an official press release, to come from Apple in the coming weeks.
