Posted by Arron on 06 Jul 2010 @ 2:39 PMWhat do you get when you cross a tablet computer form factor with pioneering software so simple even a baby can use it? Pure success, that’s what. For those of you who thought the Apple iPad would flop because it was “just a big iPod touch” can go and eat a big bowl of your own words. Go on.
Digitimes is today reporting the company has put down orders which weigh in at a staggering 2 million iPad units for the month of July. What date is it today? – That’s right. July 6th.
It’s clear Apple is expecting no slow down in the sale of the iPad, with the site claiming the company has put in orders of roughly 60% for the 3G model, and 40% for the Wi-Fi model.
“Apple is estimated to have outsourced 2.3-2.35 million iPads to Taiwan players in July with 58-60% for the Wi-Fi and 3G hybrid model despite Wi-Fi only models having stronger sales in the first half of 2010, Kuo noted.”
