Just a big iPod touch? – Even if it is there’s no doubt the Apple iPad is selling. In its millions. Apple just released its third quarter earnings report announcing a record quarter and iPad revenue topping $2 Billion.
Social media reporters @Mashable just put that figure in perspective today by stating that Apple has made $1.5 Billion on the iPod, $5.3 Billion from the iPhone and $3.0 Billion from its Macbook product line. The iPad is officially bigger than the iPod. At least for this quarter.
In light of the earnings report Jobs released the following statement:

“It was a phenomenal quarter that exceeded our expectations all around, including the most successful product launch in Apple’s history with iPhone 4. iPad is off to a terrific start, more people are buying Macs than ever before, and we have amazing new products still to come this year.”
