AT&T Announces Fix For iPhone 4 Upload Issues, Lands In “3 to 4 Weeks”.
As we previously reported the AT&T mobile network has been experiencing crippling upload speeds. First noted by users over the July 4th holiday weekend, according to the company a few weeks ago, the problem stemmed from an issue with their Alcatel-Lucent software used to control its entire mobile network and data thrown over it.
Sure, we knew a fix was coming, but no timescale was stated. Today AT&T announced a fix would be coming within the next few weeks.
The mobile operator noted it had begun rolling out an Alcatel-Lucent software patch that would restore uplink speeds for its high-speed data services that depended on its HSUPA technology.
AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel had this to say:
“This patch will be deployed on a phased basis over the next two to three weeks. AT&T, the exclusive U.S. provider for iPhone, said the iPhone 4, the latest Apple device, was the only smartphone that runs on its HSUPA network.
