LG claims that the device the company is currently working on will be more focused on the ‘creation’ aspect of digital media – a subject area which the iPad has been highly criticized over in the past, with many stating the device is more suited to the consumption of media rather than the creation of it.

“Our tablet will be better than the iPad.
The tablet will include content focused on creation such as writing documents, editing video and creating programs. It will also have “high-end features and new benefits,” many of which will focus on productivity, Mr. Ma said.
“It’s going to be surprisingly productive,” he said.”
It’s pretty clear that the iPad was far from just a “big iPod touch” at this point, and with the Cupertino company easily surpassing 3 Million units sold in just the first 80 days of availability, not surprisingly, the competition is now playing catch up.
Is LG developing an “iPad killer” to steal some of Apple’s thunder? – I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

We've come to this place, where former big players are waiting to see what Apple brings to the table. Then taking that product back to the drawingboard, and add as many features they possibly can to butter up prospective users.
Because they know, their product will be measured against iPad, like it or not!!! So it will have to be/do better.
