Earlier today, we reported Apple’s App Store had hit the rather mind-blowing figure of 10 Billion downloads. Originally launched in July 2008 the store is now home to just shy of 350,000 apps (according to AppShopper), across a user base consisting of 159 Million iPhones, iPod touches and iPads.

To celebrate, the company put up a $10,000 iTunes gift certificate to be won by the person who was lucky enough to download the 10 billionth app from the store. Join us after the break to find out who won!

Apple has updated it’s press release to announce that the winner of that astronomically appealing gift card is that of Gail Davis of Orpington, Kent, UK!

The 10 billionth app downloaded, Paper Glider, was purchased by Gail Davis of Orpington, Kent, UK. As the winner of the App Store Countdown to 10 Billion Apps, Gail Davis will receive a $10,000 iTunes® Gift Card.
