Last month, you may remember we told you that George Hotz (known to most as Geohot) had suffered under the hands of Sony, with the multi-billion dollar corporation filing a restraining order against the 20-something hacker.
The dispute came as a result of Geohot’s past in which he was heavily involved in the manufacturing of jailbreak methods for Apple’s iOS operating system. Sony’s fears of his jailbreak methods allowing piracy of software on the PS3 and other devices, allowing users to circumvent the company’s “effective technological protective measures” in the PS3′s 3.55 firmware, was enough for Sony to file the order.
