Despite Apple not even attending Mobile World Congress, which was arguably an Android-centric affair, this week, 9to5Mac today notes that the company was just awarded the award “Best Mobile Device” for the iPhone.
Overall, the iPhone won for, quote, a “Great screen”, and “sharp design”. Interestingly, judges on the panel also noted the device carried “fantastic materials”. Um, try telling that to this guy.
Even though Apple didn’t show up, the iPhone won the award handily. The Judges’ comments included, “Great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smart phones.”
