According to the graphic above provided by Twitter user @Nilsou, from what appears to be made up of screen grabs from Apple’s official iPad videos found on Apple.com, iPad 2′s battery now reportedly takes up roughly 49% of the device’s internal space.
Compare this to the first generation iPad’s 27% area used up by its battery pack and you see that this is a rather large increase. In fact, the guys over at Engadget managed to snap the photo below during their coverage earlier today, confirming the finding.

Don’t forget that it’s much thinner, so the old batteries might have been thicker, so the contrast might not be as sharp.
