According to a new report by AppleInsider, Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore believes Apple could end up shifting as many as 1.5M units of its rumored-to-be-in production Sandy Bridge MacBook Air (pre-installed with Lion), per fiscal quarter.
At that point, Whitmore notes, the MacBook Air would account for 50 percent of Apple’s notebook business. According to recent checks within Apple’s retail chain, this new model of MacBook Air could go on sale as early as next month.
The news follows a report which broke last week, claiming that Apple had placed an order to produce 380,000 of these new Sandy Bridge MacBook Air models, with approximately 55 percent (209,000) of those expected to be 11.6-inch models.[via AppleInsider]
