Back in April, you may remember that we reported that Apple’s iPhone 4 placed second on Flickr’s most popular cameras for the photo-sharing service. Today, we’re pleased to report that the iPhone 4 has surpassed the Nikon D90, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi and Canon EOS REBEL T1i, becoming the most popular camera on Flickr.
What does this mean? – Well, we’re pretty sure the Nikons and Canons on that list have better lens quality overall – after all, they’re quite expensive compared to an iPhone. However, with the iPhone 4 carrying a 5-megapixel camera, complete with Wi-Fi, 3G and Edge connectivity, we think convenience wins out here.
Also to note – this is Flickr’s most popular cameras list. Not mobile smartphone cameras. The fact that the iPhone is now being used more to upload and take photos compared to other, more professional offerings in the market, is a big step in the right direction for mobile photography in our opinion.
