Over the weekend, we highlighted that Google Books had seemingly disappeared from the iTunes App Store. One possible argument put forward was that Google had failed to update its Books application in time to comply with Apple’s iTunes content rules.
Well, it appears that was exactly the case, with Google’s Books app having tonight returned to the App Store. The difference in the just approved version versus the version available prior to the app’s pulling? – Google Books no longer features Google’s “Get eBooks” subscription button which used to appear top left. Meaning, just as with Amazon, Kobo, WSJ and others, the app is now in full compliance with Apple’s content policies.
