Following reports back in March of this year that all plans surrounding the build has been axed, which were then debunked by the NY’s Metropolitan Transit Authority , 9to5Mac reports that Apple is just about set to unveil its new retail store located in the heart of Grand Central Station, New York.
The store is thought to be Apple’s largest retail venture yet, spanning a colossal 23,000 square-foot, big enough to cater for the over 750,000 people that pass through the station each and every day and the more than 1 Million visitors which pass through on holidays.
Expected to be the working in the store is an army of roughly 300 employees, a meeting for which is reportedly being held tonight to discuss first day procedures tomorrow, when the store will finally open to the public.
From what we have now heard, Apple will be filling the store with stock and applying the finishing touches this week putting the the actual opening of the store on Black Friday or shortly thereafter. The goal all along has been to get the store open for the holiday shopping and to make a big splash with Apple’s new crown jewel of retail.
Check out the floor space Apple bought for its Grand Central store, below. We think you’ll agree, it’s pretty darn huge.
