‘Siri0us’ Pulled From Cydia After Denial Of Rights From Nuance

Our friends at iPhoneinCanada are today reporting that Siri0us – a jailbreak tweak which recently became available allowing owners of either an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod touch to use a replica of Siri’s dictation features – has been pulled from Cydia.

Confirmed by the tweak’s developer, Eric Day, over Twitter, according to the site, the tweak was pulled from Cydia due to Nuancethe firm who was (perhaps, unknowingly) supplying Day with the capabilities to deal with user dictation – reportedly denying Day the rights to use its text-to-speech technology.

My site is down, PLZ [DO NOT] try to access my site any more. Siri0us is removed. I have to keep my site up for activating iBluever!

As a result of this, Day is now said to be looking for alternative text-to-speech offerings which will substitute the removal of Nuance’s own technology. According to reports, however, the tweak will still continue to work for those who managed to install it while it was available, for a limited time.
