Similar to its ‘Complete My Album’ feature it introduced in 2009, (in which uses are given the option of purchasing the remaining tracks on an album they previously purchased, at a discounted rate), Apple has today rolled out a new feature for the iTunes Store called ‘Complete My Season Pass’.
Previously, users who had purchased episodes of their favourite TV shows and then opted to purchase an iTunes Season Pass for this TV show, were then forced to re-purchase the episodes of the show they had originally purchased individually. With the availability of a ‘Complete My Season Pass’ option, however, this previous issue is resolved.
According to MacRumors:
When logged in and viewing an iTunes Store page listing for a single season of a TV show, the Season Pass purchase price will be reduced by the amount of previous single-episode purchases, allowing users to upgrade to the full season without having to essentially repurchase the episodes they had previously acquired individually.
And, as Season Passes usually arrive at significantly discounted prices compared to buying each episode of your favourite show(s) individually, the feature may actually save you some cash, too. ‘Complete My Season Pass’ is still rolling out, however, the new feature can already be seen on a number of TV shows available for purchase on the iTunes Store.
