As Apple prepares to take to the stage in New York for what is rumored to be an e-books-focused media event, this Thursday, Macotakara tonight reports that the company could also be planning to hold yet another media event – this time with the focus being on Apple’s third-generation iPad – as early as this February.
A new report from Japanese publication Macotakara claimed an iPad 3 launch event would take place in early February. The report cited sources in the U.S. and Asian supply chain and said the new iPad will most likely be released in early March.
If true, the announcement would fall right in line with the original announcement of both the iPad, (and iPad 2), which were both officially unveiled by the firm around the same time.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg has also weighed in on the rumor noting that it expects the production of Apple’s iPad to reach “full volume” leading up to this early February media event. Such an event has not yet been confirmed by Apple, although, (if the report has any weight to it), we should expect to hear about the event more officially in the coming weeks.[via 9to5Mac]
