However, it’s not just Apple who will be announcing its quarterly earnings report today. Earlier this afternoon, U.S telecoms carrier Verizon also unveiled its earnings report for its holiday quarter (Q4, 2011) – in which it noted that it had sold 7.7 Million smartphones.
Of those 7.7 Million smartphones sold, Verizon announced that it had sold 4.3 Million iPhones, meaning that Apple’s iPhone alone accounted for more than half of all smartphones sold by the telecom provider in its final quarter. Alongside this, the company also provided a break down on the amount of LTE-enabled smartphones it had managed to sell throughout the period, noting it had sold 700,000 units.
