Released just 35-days ago, Rovio this afternoon announced that Angry Birds Space has been downloaded a staggering 50 Million times since its initial debut on the app scene just over a month ago — officially making it the world’s fastest-growing mobile game. Ever.
Extending their “deepest gratitude” to those players who have entertained the Angry Birds franchise over the last several years, the studio noted that while numbers like this “certainly say something about the popularity of Angry Birds,” their main goal remains to be to “keep creating fun new experiences that everybody can enjoy!”
To really put that into the perspective it deserves, we have to take another App Store hit – Draw Something. Now the property of gaming giant Zynga – despite its massive popularity – Draw Something took 3.5-months to reach 50 Million downloads.
News of the milestone follows Angry Birds Space last week receiving its first-ever update, which the studio highlights has “plenty more surprises in stock” for the over 50M of you who already own the title.
