Released just last week after an agonizing wait for some, Absinthe 2.0 – the first jailbreak method to allow the freeing of iOS devices running iOS 5.1.1 (or later) – has attracted over 1 Million users in less than 7 days.
Those numbers arrived via the Chronic Dev Team on Twitter, who wrote:
Some stats since release of #Absinthe – 211,401 jailbroken iPad3′s and 973,086 devices newly jailbroken!
The figures follow on from a rather strange report earlier this month, in which Gizmodo claimed that the Californian company had systematically started to censor the word ‘jailbreak’ across iTunes U.S.
These claims, however, were never able to be confirmed fully.
Note: RazorianFly expressly does not condone the use of jailbreak methods for illegal or damaging intents. We hold good relations with developers on all platforms across the world, and we continue to respect their (and our own) view on piracy. You jailbreak at your own risk.
