Get ready, Minecraft fans!… as Minecraft ‘Pocket Edition’ for iOS has received what many out there who are perhaps already familiar with the game (and its features), will consider a major update – today.
Pushed out onto the store in the last few hours, Minecraft – Pocket Edition 0.4.0 is a truly welcomed update to the mobile port of Mojang‘s modern internet phenomena, now not only bringing with it the addition of ‘Chests’ so that you can store the items you may pick-up on your travels more easily, but in this version you’ll also find that days and nights are considerably longer, further allowing you to ‘get done’ what you need to do in the virtual world, before the sun rises.
Don’t fancy waiting? – ‘Beds’ have also been included in this update, so – if you really need to – you can now trade the dark, for light, and skip straight to the fresh sight of the morning’s dawn.
Alongside the above changes, there are a selection of other notable additions which have been added in this release, specifically – Creepers! … Yes, you can now fight-off crazed creepers on your iOS device, (even using a block or two of ‘TNT’, if you feel it necessary).
- Added food. Eat it to restore health.
- Farming; wheat, seeds and hoe.
- Peaceful mode setting: healing and no monsters.
- Trapdoor, new dyes and a few new recipes.
- More: close to 20 bug fixes and tweaks, e.g. monsters spawned when bright, client fall damage.
Available for download as of this afternoon, Minecraft – Pocket Edition 0.4.0 is universally supported across iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. There’s also a FREE ‘Lite Edition’ available, for those looking to simply check the game out for what it is, without necessarily having to commit to purchasing a copy.

You can sleep on the bed at night by simply clicking ‘the top half’ of the bed, where your head would be. The room will become darker as your character sleeps. When you wake up, you will notice that the sun is already up! ;)

You light TNT by making flint and steel! 1 iron ingot and 1 flint. You mine iron and you sometimes find flint when digging gravel!

the trapdoor is under the blocks section, but you have to use a crafting table.

With meat you get it from animals (pigs have pork, cows have beef and chickens have chicken,) you have to cook it in a furnace. With mushroom stew and bread you need the work bench (crafting table.)

Trap door is in work table, first category on the top left. Just after stone stairs and before wooden door. Um, are you guys sure you clicked on the chula workbench, and not just the crafting button that has less stuff when you are walking around?

Listen! I made, like, a humongous tower made out of nothing but cobblestone, cobblestone stairs and doors. There’s a furnace and crafting table on the second floor, and two beds and a chest on the third floor! On the first floor ther is an entrance to a big mine that goes down to the bedrock…
and up again four different ways so far!
I forgot to say that at the top of the tower there is
aq sniping point that lets you see about a quater of the word! There are also holes for sniping every now and then. (This is on Survival!)

Like brooke minecraft lover said about it being underwater but there’s only about…hmm…calculating…about 0.3% chance of THAT happening! (No offense, Brooke! Your way can work but…err…not so often.) My best find of diamond was where I got 4 diamonds… and then GOLD right next to it! I mean TOUCHING IT! (Those who may think I’m showing off, listen. I’m not.)

Thanks, Kitcat! Do you want to find diamond? Maybe some…er, coal, iron of GOLD? Well, if you do, I know how. create a new world with a seed as ’0.4.0′ and dig down from where you spawn. First you’ll find iron, then GOLD, THEN DIAMOND and last there’s coal. I also know how to get LAVA! Create a new world with a seed as ‘nether’ and when you spawn, look around and you’ll find LAVA… coming out of a mountain! When doing this with ‘nether’ and ’0.4.0′ make it creative! Anyone… ask me ANYTHING!
