At the beginning of this month, you may remember we highlighted that Apple’s new ‘PassBook’ section in iOS 6 had gone live, prematurely. Available for a brief period of time, with the official release of iOS 6 yesterday, we’re pleased to report that Apple’s iTunes ‘PassBook’ section is now live and ready to use.
Showcasing a number of applications supporting the new feature, and which appear (at least for the moment) to be mostly U.S-centric, the new section aims to filter the applications in the store which carry support for digital ‘passes’ in PassBook.
The list of applications featured in the new store section, include:
Fandango – Movie tickets. Buy tickets seamlessly without leaving the app for 20,000+ screens – and counting – more than on any other app. Now including all AMC Theatres locations!
Live Nation – From the world’s leading live entertainment company. Find nearby concerts you’ll love, buy tickets, and have more fun when you get there with the Live Nation app.
Lufthansa – Enjoy greater flexibility and convenience in planning your journeys with Lufthansa.
MLB – The #1 sports app of all-time and Hall of Fame inductee for iPhone, iPad.
Sephora – Find the largest cross-brand selection of prestige beauty products, each indexed and tagged along 25 dimensions to filter and search by price, color, brand, best-selling, skin type, concerns, ingredients, age, and top rated.
Ticketmaster – The Ticketmaster app instantly connects you to nearby concerts based on the music in your iTunes library – you’ll know who’s playing where when you’re in the mood for live music.
Walgreens – America’s online pharmacy serving your needs for prescriptions, health & wellness products, health information and photo services.
