comScore: Apple Just Became The Second-Largest Smartphone Manufacturer In The U.S

Market research firm ComScore is out with a new report this week, in which it claims that Apple has this quarter surpassed its industry rivals LG, Motorola, and HTC, to become the second-largest smartphone manufacturer in the U.S, now trailing only its love-hate partner – Samsung.

According to the report, Samsung maintained its lead in the market with a smartphone subscriber base of 26.3-percent, which significantly topped Apple’s 17.8-percent share for the same period.

In comparison, however, LG, Motorola, and HTC, were all found to have lost market share in the U.S, with each of the aforementioned companies seeing a -0.8, -0.2 and -0.4 percent respective drop in their smartphone subscriber base compared to the previous month.
