Hired quietly back in September, WIRED reports this week that Apple has snapped up self-confessed hacker and previous security advisory to both eBay and Google, Kristin Paget (@KrisPaget), to act as its new ‘Core Operating System Security Researcher.’

Now thought to have been part of an elite team of hackers covertly brought in by technology juggernaut Microsoft to “lock down Windows Vista,” in terms of the open security holes the OS was found to have back in the early days, WIRED reports that - (having contacted Paget via e-mail) – Paget “confirmed that she is now an Apple employee,” adding that any questions the publication had on her position at the company should be redirected to Apple PR.
However, when approached by WIRED, Apple PR representatives reportedly declined to comment further on Paget’s recent hiring by the company.
