Just 24-hours after AT&T announced that Holiday 2012 was its ‘best smartphone sales quarter, ever,’ the company’s rival – Verizon – has announced today that it will hold its Q4, 2012 earnings call on January 22.
Setting a firm date for its next fiscal earnings call, the telecom carrier has today also issued a press statement highlighting that it expects to announce 9.8 Million sales of smartphone handsets for the quarter in question – (which marginally trails AT&T’s announced sales of 10 Million for the same period).
Verizon’s Communication Chief, Lowell McAdam, added that 85-percent of the devices the U.S wireless carrier sold in the quarter were smartphones, and there was a notable “higher mix of Apple smartphones” sold by the firm, compared to normal figures.
