Sharing the app’s official artwork for the first time yesterday, Pebble Technology has confirmed this week that its official app, for use in conjunction with its ‘Pebble’ smartwatch, will be available for download on the App Store before the first deliveries of the watch begin arriving on doorsteps around the world.
While the firm’s first-ever press conference held at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show gave a good amount of detail on the smartwatch’s current (and future) capabilities, one detail notably left out of the presentation involved when backers might expect to be able to get their hands on the official Pebble app needed to control certain features – (such as downloadable watch-faces) – on the watch itself.

This led some to speculate that Pebble has already had its official app approved by Apple, and was simply waiting for January 23 to send it live. Whilst this hasn’t been confirmed by the company officially, though, thankfully backers can relax in knowing that, by the time Pebble arrives, the official app will likely also be available for download.
Pebble begins shipping in exactly 5 days, which means the app should become available for download anytime within the next 2-3 weeks.
We’ll be sure to let you know the moment Pebble’s official iOS app becomes available for download. In the meantime, be sure to check out our entire recap of Pebble’s press conference, which includes all the details you need to know before your own Pebble arrives.
