The launch of Twitter’s new video-sharing service “Vine,” has been somewhat tarnished by the app seemingly recommending ‘pornography’ to its users. Although we realize that this is most-definitely unintentional, 9to5Mac reports that the app’s ‘Editor’s Pick’ section has been shown to be littered with explicit videos.
While Twitter does seemingly block such videos from playing automatically, displaying the message: “This post may contain sensitive content. Tap to view,” the debate regarding whether such user-generated content should be allowed on the service, given the recent pulling of 500px from Apple’s digital content store for similar reasons, is now raging.
If Twitter isn’t too careful, Vine might just become the next app to fall casualty to Apple’s ‘no pornography’ or explicit material policy.
