As we countdown to Apple’s Spring media event, a number of purported photos have surfaced this week which claim to show the back plate of the company’s fifth-generation iPad.
The photos, (acquired by 9to5Mac), are in line with recent reports that suggest the iPad 5 will carry a similar aesthetic design to the recently launched “iPad Mini”, showing the tablet to have a slightly thinner overall profile and chamfered edges.
The publication notes that it “cannot confirm” the legitimacy of the photos shown above, but notes that the shots do appear to show “solid representation” of what Apple’s next-generation iPad may look like.
The surfacing of the photos arrives following a separate report by Macotakara in late December, in which the site claimed that Apple’s fifth-generation iPad was solidly on track for a March 2013 debut.
