As highlighted by our friends at iClarified, the official “Star Trek” Super Bowl ad promoting the next installment of the Star Trek franchise – Star Trek: Into Darkness – (which consequentially aired nationwide in the U.S, yesterday), actually takes advantage of Apple’s new app short links.
Launched over the weekend, developers looking to market their apps to their users can now use AppStore.com/app-name to promote their iOS offerings more effectively. The short links are also available for Mac apps, too, using the format AppStore.com/mac/app-name.
