As speculation surrounding the second iteration of Apple’s 7.9-inch tablet continues to swirl, members of the WeiPhone message boards have this week shared a number of photos depicting – what they claim – is the rear aluminum shell of Apple’s second-generation iPad mini.
If you’re sat there thinking to yourself: “But, this looks exactly like the rear plate on the first iPad mini,” you’d be right … there’s really no noticeable difference (at least, that we can see), to tell this alleged ‘rear’ plate, from the plate seen on the first-generation iPad mini we have in our hands here – (barring the bright blue Apple logo, of course).
While the legitimacy of the shots above have not yet been officially verified, though, the guys at Nowhereelse have done a bit of detective work regarding the photos, and claim that at least some of the shots appear to contain the name of Apple’s case partner, ‘Catcher.’
Other than that small little detail, your guess is as good as ours.
