Mark Jeschke’s live-performance drum app – DrumKick – just took a dive from its original price, now seeing both the iPhone and iPad versions of the music app available for download FREE (for a limited time).
Designed for both the beginner and professional alike, DrumKick is unique in the sense that it will allow you to use a second iOS device, connected via Bluetooth, to play the kick drum sound with your foot.
This means that you can effectively use multiple devices to create a beat, using DrumKick‘s hgh-quality drum stereo sounds (with independent control of their volume, pitch and pan levels), to aid you.
Enhanced for Apple’s ‘Retina’ display, (and optimized for use on both Apple’s new iPad and iPhone 5), Jeschke claims that DrumKick will provide you with absolutely “zero latency” when dealing with drum taps and sounds. In addition, both drums and cymbals feature “3D” animations for that extra level of added ‘realism.’
Need a track to get you started? – If you need some inspiration beforehand, DrumKick will allow you to jam along to your favourite tracks, using background audio. Music apps running in the background, (such as GarageBand), can also be used to provide further assistance to your beats, with support for playing music through Pandora and Apple’s stock ‘Music’ app, arriving as standard.
Complete with multiple ‘tap regions’ designed for triggering different drum and cymbal sounds, (including the ability to tap and hold on the crash cymbal for a ‘choked’ cymbal muting effect), while there are other offerings which achieve similar ‘drum simulation’ environments, DrumKick is a neat app for those who are either looking to get into drumming, or perhaps those who want to expand their skills by playing along to challenging tracks.
