Winner of Apple’s 2013 Design Award, the Nordic Indie Sensation Award 2013, and the SCEE Award in Game Connection Europe 2012, the atmospheric side-scrolling action adventure platformer features a graphic art style all of its own, taking place in a gorgeous forest full of various inhabitants, trees and flowers.
Although this forest would appear to be cut straight from the pages of a beautiful fairytale book, however, there’s a palpable sense that something is terribly wrong here. Guiding the forest’s inhabitants to discover what’s going on, players control their journey as they discover the astonishing amount of imaginative traps and obstacles that await them.
Citing “innovative physics based gameplay,” combined with some “extremely beautiful atmospheric graphics and audio,” the studio says that BADLAND takes side-scrollers to the “next level,” providing players with a highly immersive audio-visual gaming experience that also compasses an original local multiplayer mode which supports up to four players playing on the same device.
Just updated in May with 10 brand new levels, 30 new missions, and 5 new achievements – having spent many an hour playing the game ourselves – BADLAND arrives as a highly-recommended title for those who love the platformer genre, with the game carrying ‘Universal’ support for Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
