Instagram‘s official client for iOS was updated at the end of last week with support for “Cinema” mode using the iPhone‘s front-facing camera, alongside “many other improvements and bug fixes.”
One of those improvements means that you can now also take photos, or record video, whilst holding the Instagram camera in landscape orientation.
Instagram first added the ability to record video with its (once, only photo-friendly) iPhone client towards the end of last month – an announcement which has resulted in an increasing amount of people flocking to the Facebook-owned service, and leaving other offerings – such as Twitter-owned Vine – out to dry.
In response, Twitter promptly released its “biggest update yet” to Vine. There’s still no word on how those new features may have influenced (if at all) the service, in terms of managing to claw back those lost users – however.
