App updates for download through the iTunes App Store are seemingly slow in arriving, this Monday, as a scheduled maintenance period of Apple’s developer services, over the weekend, appears to have caused a delay in the publishing of both new apps and updates to the store.
In a mailshot the company sent out to its developers on Saturday, Apple announced that its developer services would be “undergoing a brief scheduled maintenance.” The company noted that this maintenance period was set to start at 6pm PDT on August 17, however the company failed to state when services would be restored.
“During this time the developer website and developer program services will be offline,” the mailshot read. While developer services do appear to be back online, there does appear to be a slight delay of app updates hitting the store.
Apple notably did not give a reason for the brief taking down of its developer services over the weekend. The maintenance period follows the nearly 3-week outage of the Developer Portal just several weeks ago.
