Timed to coincide with the return of ITV’s The X Factor, (which is set to premiere tonight at 8PM), Apple is this weekend making the upcoming album by X Factor semi-finalist and British singer-songwriter, Diana Vickers – available for preorder on iTunes.
Set to follow on from her 2010 musical debut, entitled “Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree,” Vickers’ second studio album “Music To Make Boys Cry” is currently set to see its official digital release on September 15, 2013.
The album features 13 full-length tracks, including the lead single – “Cinderella,” – which was released on July 21, 2013. You can take a listen to this track, (courtesy of our friends at Rdio), below.

The title track from the album, “Music To Make Boys Cry” would (on a first listen) appear to be an admittedly catchy collaboration of both synths and beats, which almost certainly would seem to have that nostalgic 80s feel to them – (think, Yazoo).
Described as a “modern empowerment anthem” for the current generation, Vickers explains that the original concept behind the track actually came from her seeing the phrase – “music to make boys cry” – while sitting on an airplane. Vickers later went on to note that she felt she just had to create a song containing those lyrics.
The track will make its public debut as the new album’s title single, on September 15, the date on which you’ll also be able to get your hands on her upcoming album of the same name.
Meanwhile, you can preorder “Music To Make Boys Cry” on iTunes, today. Apple is unusually only offering the “Deluxe Version” of the album for preorder, but it’s also doing so at the significantly reduced price of just £7.99.
