Despite Apple’s iPhone 5C originally going on preorder at 12:01AM PDT, yesterday, it would appear the device is still shipping with guaranteed delivery for September 20.
Usually when a new iPhone model goes up for preorder, Apple manages to blow through its allocated stock for the model within the first few hours of availability. However, with the iPhone 5C this doesn’t appear to be the case.
There are two possibilities in our view. Either, Apple has an abundance of allocated iPhone 5C stock to sell online through its store. Or, the iPhone 5C hasn’t been as popular with customers as Apple perhaps thought it would be.
Of course, it’s early days yet. The real tell will be when we get to see Apple’s official press release on Monday, which will detail just how many iPhone 5C units the company managed to sell through Apple Online over its opening weekend.
