NAMCO Debuts “Tamagotchi Life” For iOS

If you’ve been looking to fill that Tamagotchi-sized hole in your life, that was left sometime back in the late 90s, NAMCO might just have the answer.

For those who can’t remember, the Tamagotchi (たまごっち) was a handheld digital pet, created in Japan by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ, and Aki Maita of the Japanese toy and games brand – Bandai.

Arriving in the form of a keychain toy, the original “Tamagotchi” ultimately swept the globe in a worldwide toy “craze” that this planet is not likely to see again. In fact, by the end of March 1998, the “Tamagotchi” had sold 20 Million units across Japan (alone), and another 20 Million overseas.

Celebrating its sixteenth year on the market, and still a popular way to pass time in some parts of the world, NAMCO is now bringing back the Tamagotchi with a 21st-century twist.

Instead of having to carry around a separate, “pebble”-sized device, you can now feed, water and exercise your very own digital pet right on your smartphone (or tablet) — and, best of all? …

… It’s in colour!

Tamagotchi L.I.F.E carries full ‘universal’ support for both Apple’s iPhone and iPad, is completely ‘FREE to play,’ and is initially supported by ads. You can remove those, (if you like), for a one-off “lifetime” in-app purchase of $0.99.

Get “Tamagotchi L.I.F.E” — and create your digital pet, today!
