Fans of U.S fantasy television drama – Game Of Thrones – which aims to tell the tales of violent dynastic struggles that gradually emerge among the realm’s noble families whom seek control of the “Iron Throne,” may be pleased to hear that Apple is now (finally) making available a digital pass for the show’s entire third season.
The limited-time promotion will see fans of the show able to purchase a complete season pass to watch Game Of Thrones (Season 3) – today, then receiving all episodes from the season in digital format – on February 17.
Duplicity and treachery…nobility and honor…conquest and triumph…and, of course, dragons. It’s ‘Game’ on for Season 3 of this epic, Emmy(R)-winning HBO series based on the bestselling book series by George R.R. Martin.
In Season 3, family and loyalty are the overarching themes as many critical storylines from the first two seasons come to a brutal head. Meanwhile, the Lannisters maintain their hold on King’s Landing, though stirrings in the North threaten to alter the balance of power; Robb Stark, King of the North, faces a major calamity as he tries to build on his victories; a massive army of wildlings led by Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds) march for the Wall; and Daenerys Targaryen–reunited with her dragons–attempts to raise an army in her quest for the Iron Throne.
Passes for the show’s third season start at $28.99. If you’re a stickler for quality, you may want to opt for the HD season pass. That will run you $38.99, but it’s worth noting that you’ll also be receiving all episodes included in the season – February 17.
Usually, buying a “season pass” through iTunes would see those customers have to wait until each individual episode of that season had aired on television, before that same episode would become available for digital download.
However, with Game Of Thrones (Season 3) having already aired, it appears Apple is – (perhaps for the first time) – offering those who either missed this season, or want to own it for themselves in digital format, the chance to download all episodes from the season, all at once. This fact is backed up by the season’s description, which reads: “Full Season Available February 17.”
HBO just announced that Game of Thrones will be returning to U.S screens, on April 6. Based on previous season passes offered by Apple for the show, we should expect to see the full season pass for Game of Thrones (Season 4) – in 2015.
