We’ve heard of ‘backgrounding audio’ before, (a feature which allows that app’s audio to remain playing, even if the app itself is backgrounded by the user), but ‘AirPlay Multitasking Capability’? … not so much.

Following the public release of iOS 6.1.3 earlier this afternoon, Apple has tonight also released a new version of software for the Apple TV. The update, (which Apple notes is available only for ‘eligible devices,’) brings with it a completely redesigned user interface for Hulu Plus, alongside a variety of security fixes which now reportedly prevent the running of unsigned code on the TV-connected device.
An interesting take from Citigroup analyst, Oliver Chen, on Apple’s rumored smartwatch this evening. Relayed by Bloomberg, the comments made by the analyst this week appear to indicate that the gross profit margins on watch hardware are currently considerably higher than the gross profit margins seen on the sale of television sets.
Receiving a rather notable update on Friday, the official client of video-sharing site YouTube was just updated with a new ‘Send to TV’ feature. The feature now allows both YouTube account holders and guests to have full control over their YouTube watching experience on their TV, Xbox or Sony PS3, right from within the app itself.
Apple’s ‘iTunes in the Cloud’ service, which allows for the re-downloading and access to content originally purchased from the iTunes Store (such as apps, movies, TV shows and music), has gone live in a further 11 European regions this week.
