Apple has this morning published an open letter to its official website, in an attempt to quell rampant speculation that suggests the company may give direct access to its servers to U.S government agencies.
Back in January, you may remember we took a brief look at DataMan Next. Described as your “weapon against overage,” the app uses its “Smart Forecast” algorithm to predict whether or not you will exceed your allowed data for this month.
In a part exposé on the behind-the-scenes workings of Apple’s intelligent assistant – Siri – WIRED, (via 9to5Mac), has discovered that Siri is actually able to remember what you say for a period of 24-months. The discovery arrives after the publication began an investigation into just how long Apple is legally able to keep hold of user data submitted through the feature, after highlighting a number of what it called “fuzzy disclosures” found in Siri’s own privacy policy.
When I first got word that the guys at Panic were hard at work on porting their office ‘Status Board’ to iOS, I have to say was more than excited. Panic prides itself on creating ‘shockingly good software,’ and its latest offering – StatusBoard – is really no exception to this mantra.
Allegedly leaked on YouTube earlier this week, a video featuring what appears to be a version of Google’s Siri-esque data assistant service, Google Now, designed for Apple’s iOS operating system – is making some serious waves this week.

Google, however, has announced that it will not be passing along any of your personal data or information relating to your Gmail (or cloud) accounts, without first requesting a warrant from the government (or law enforcement) agency who is requesting such personal information be released.
TechDirt reports that U.S wireless carrier AT&T has recently introduced a new “six-strikes” policy for its high-speed internet subscribers, which will see the company give customers who continually use their account for copyright infringement 6 chances to change their ways, before legal action may be taken against them.
